Except for disposable barbecue utensils that use solid fuels, everything else is within the scope of this standard.

European Standard EN 1860-3:2003 Appliances, solid fuels and firelighters for barbecueing—Part 3:  Firelighters for igniting solid fuels for use in barbecue appliances. Requirements and test methods Barbecue utensils, solid fuels, and ignition materials for outdoor use - Part 3: Ignite during grilling.

 

European Standard EN 1860-4 Appliances,solid fuels and firelighters for barbecueing--part 4: single use barbecues burning solid fuels--requirements and test methods Barbecue tools, solid fuels, and igniters - Part 4: Barbecue utensils for barbecue purposes only using solid fuels - Requirements and testing methods) Applicable to disposable barbecue utensils.

 

If it does not comply with the requirements of this regulation, France prohibits the production, import, storage, and sale of barbecue utensils and auxiliary tools for the French market.

 

If there is a certificate issued by the relevant French agency, other European Community countries and European Free Trade Association member countries or recognized institutions in Türkiye, the French decree will recognize that its products conform to the European standards EN1860-1 and 1860-4 and the confirmed samples.

 

As long as its security requirements are consistent with the Act, the Act also recognizes other European Community countries and EFTA member countries or Türkiye.

 

Barbecue utensils produced according to one's own standards, technical specifications, and production processes.

 

 

A - Product Safety Requirements

 

Certain items and their components are considered to pose potential hazards:

 

1. Thermal resistance

 

All barbecue components must not deform or detach, and must not overheat during cooking.

 

2. Prevent fires and food burning

 

All barbecue components must have a fire-resistant design, and the grill and food must not come into contact with fuel.

 

3. Stability

 

The product must have stability, not tilt or overturn, and its components must not slip off. If the grill is equipped with casters, no components should slip off during the process of pushing the grill.

 

4. Avoid causing injury

 

On January 4, 2006, French Decree No. 2006-2018 on the safety of using solid fuel barbecue grills came into effect. This regulation establishes provisions on safety requirements for barbecue and auxiliary equipment sold in the French market. The intention of these terms is to protect users and third parties from health and safety threats caused by product design and structure when using the device under normal or appropriate conditions of use.

 

The surface temperature of the handle and clamp facilities shall not exceed: metal: 55 ; Glass/porcelain: 66 ; Plastic: 70 ; Wood products: 89 . All barbecue components must have a smooth surface, without sharp points, sharp edges, or sharp or protruding parts that may cause injury to the user.

 

5. Assembly and Handling

 

All barbecue components must be able to be safely assembled and disassembled. For example, when inserting or removing grills or iron forks, there is no need to tilt the equipment or remove or move components.

 

6. Additional requirements for electric barbecue grills

 

If an electric motor is used in barbecue, the design of the equipment must ensure that the palm does not come into contact with surfaces that exceed the specified temperature by 3 degrees when replacing the battery or rewinding.

 

 

 

B-Identification requirements

 

1. Non disposable barbecue utensils

 

The packaging of products using solid fuels must have clear, distinct, and indelible markings, and clearly contain the following information:

 

a. Information on the person in charge of the initial market launch of the product;

 

b. Product information and manufacturing labels containing product, model, and category;

 

c. Warning language

 

They should use French.

C - Instructions for use

 

Each barbecue device must come with instructions for use, which should be clear and easy to understand, and must include detailed information about the product's usage.

 

1. Non disposable barbecue utensils

 

a. Explanation of product model or type, including exploded view, component description, etc;

 

b. Tip: This device can only be used when firmly installed above a horizontal plane;

 

c. The correct installation method, preferably accompanied by an installation diagram;

 

d. All suggestions for the safe use of this barbecue utensil;

 

e. It is recommended to heat the barbecue equipment and allow the fuel to burn for at least 30 minutes before cooking for the first time;

 

f. The available fuel and the maximum amount that can be used;

 

g. Appropriate ignition procedures and the following warning statements:

2. Disposable barbecue device

 

a. The information above about non disposable barbecue utensils (C-1-a, b, c, and d);

 

b. If not provided, the available fuel and maximum usage;

 

c. Appropriate ignition procedures, including the following warning statements:
