Lubricating oil analysis

Testing Standard Methods
●ASTM D 4377- Standard Test Method for Determining Water Content in Crude Oil by Karl Fischer Potentiometric Titration;
●ASTM D 974- Standard Test Method for Determining pH by Color Indicator Titration;
●ASTM D 445- Standard Test Method for Dynamic Viscosity of Transparent and Opaque Liquids;
●ASTM D5185- Method for Determining Additive Elements, Wear Metals, and Pollutants in Used Lubricating Oil, as well as Certain Elements in Base Oil, by ICP Atomic Emission Spectroscopy;
●ASTM D 1500- ASTM Standard Test Method for Color of Petroleum Products;
●POE/AB - Mineral oil in oil.
A special tool for lubricating oil testing. The changes in compressor operation are reflected in the properties and composition of its lubricating oil. Regular lubricant analysis can detect problems before they cause expenses. By combining regular analysis and regular dismantling inspections, the likelihood of compressor burnout, system failures, and irregular maintenance can be greatly reduced. The overall benefits include:
● Improve energy efficiency;
●Reduce downtime;
● Prevent malfunctions;
●Eliminate expensive oil change costs;
●Protecting assets;
● Troubleshooting;
● Fault analysis;
●Reduce warranty claims.
Lubricating oil analysis also provides information on the relative success of compressor modifications. Residual mineral oil in polyol esters (POE) and polyethers (PAG) can be identified through analysis.
Free Consultation
Based on the composition and quantity of pollutants, our skilled technicians will be able to identify components with abnormal wear and tear. Our technical consultants can provide guidance, explain test results, discuss maintenance history, or propose corrective measures at any time.
The moisture content of refrigeration lubricating oil must be kept as low as possible. High moisture content will promote the production of acid and ultimately lead to system failure. The total acid value reflects the content of inorganic acids in lubricating oil. Acid can damage the internal components of the system and ultimately disrupt the chemical composition of the refrigerant and lubricating oil. The viscosity of lubricating oil should be close to the manufacturer's viscosity specifications. Spectral analysis can measure the level of certain metals in lubricating oil (in ppm). These metals are usually lubricant additives, compressor wear metals, or pollutants outside the system.
